Nepal Travel Guide

Nepal is a beautiful country in Asia. I traveled here to hike to Everest Base Camp and added an extra few days to climb Island Peak. It was one of the toughest treks I’ve ever done, but it absolutely incredible!

Best time to visit Nepal

Fall (September to November) and Spring (March to May) are the best months to go trekking in Nepal. The weather is often clear, and the temperatures are moderate.

The monsoon season starts in June and ends in August. It’s a dangerous time to be in the mountains as there is heavy rainfall and risks of landslides.

Winter (December to February) brings with it freezing cold temperatures with a lot of snowfall.

What to expect

  • Capital city: Kathmandu
  • Language: Nepali
  • Currency: Nepalese Rupee (NPR)
  • Safety: I felt extremely safe in Nepal but be aware of petty crime

Everest Base Camp

The Everest Base Camp trek is one of my travel highlights. It’s a popular route, and I underestimated how difficult it would be. But despite the struggle, I made it to base camp and have shared everything you need to know.

Island Peak

Island Peak sits at 6 189m. It’s considered one of the easier 6 000m peaks to summit but many people underestimate just how tough of a climb it is!
